We’ll help you restore missing teeth with dental implants.
Dental implants are the best way to replace missing teeth, especially if the teeth adjacent to the space would not otherwise require fillings/restorations. A dental implant involves a series of appointments. We work with an implant specialist who places a small titanium post into the bone. After it stabilizes and 'integrates' we can place a crown on top of the post that will mimic the missing teeth. Like a bridge, a dental implant is fixed in your mouth and you do not need to worry about it coming lose or removing your new tooth/teeth to clean them.
Dental implants can also be used when multiple or all teeth are missing. Bridges and dentures can both be connected to dental implants. Each case is different. Please drop in for a consultation with Dr. Geoffrey Gay and we can discuss your specific needs.
Dental Implants are placed by the dental specialists called periodontists or oral and maxillofacial surgeons. Having dental implants placed is a longer process which might require several visits (usually 2) of your periodontist or oral surgeon. Most of the patients describe the pain as mild and experience very little discomfort during the surgery. Local anaesthesia is provided in order to reduce discomfort during the implant surgery.
If you are thinking about getting dental implants, our office will be happy to schedule a consultation with you and discuss your options.
